Book Access Associates

Bring Me A Book leverages expertise from our associates who have incorporated Book Access into their mission and programs.

DREME: Development and Research in Early Math Education

The DREME Network was created in 2014 to advance the field of early mathematics research and improve young children’s opportunities to develop math skills. The Network focuses on math from birth through age eight years, with an emphasis on the preschool years.

We partner with the DREME network to promote early math learning through access to books. DREME has identified picture books that can be used to directly address key math topics. We select books for our programs that are recommended by DREME for early math learning.  The DREME Storybook Guides are intended to help foster children’s literacy, math vocabulary and mathematical thinking.

The DREME website also includes extensive resources for teachers and parent educators.

Bookelicious

Bookelicious: Feed · Your · Read

Bookelicious.com was founded to empower children to find books that match their individual interests and reading levels. The site features a professionally curated collection of books for children organized by subject and level of difficulty.

We partner with Bookelicious to help children find books they love to read. Using bookelicious.com our volunteers guide young children to choose their books, create their personalized bookmojis and stay engaged and reading.

Bookelicious also provides teachers with engagement tools, including reading logs, games and quizzes.

Mathical Book Prize

The Mathical Book Prize recognizes math-inspiring fiction and nonfiction titles for ages 2-18. Award-winning Mathical titles are selected by a nationwide committee including mathematicians, educators, librarians, early childhood experts, and others.

The Mathical Book Prize is presented by the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute (MSRI), in partnership with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), and in coordination with the Children’s Book Council (CBC).

Bring Me A Book partners with MSRI to enhance our book selection. The Mathical Book List provides a wide range of books that inspire a love of math by connecting children’s interests with the joy, beauty, and power of mathematics in the world around us. Books are chosen to support students’ content area interests across genres including poetry, biography, adventure, graphic novels, and picture books for young children.

The Mathical website includes a searchable database of winning books organized by children’s ages, as well as additional resources for each book as well as educator resource guides for selected titles.
